  • 11/30/10: The first feature performance of 2010 happens at Tutuma Social Club, one of NYC's hottest new venues for Afro-Peruvian jazz and cuisine. Our set starts at 11pm sharp. Come vote for us in the battle of the bands! Best of all, there is no cover charge. A redeux night of mayhem at Bar 4 is in the offing.
  • 2009 recap: The Saxophone Cartel welcomed two new members, Lynn Ligamari and Matt Thomas. The Cartel took the stage at Bowery Poetry Club, Spike Hill, Rose Live Music, and Goodbye Blue Mondays. Much love and appreciation to everyone who joined us.
  • 11/12/08: Big thanks to the small but dedicated crowd that made it to our election week An die Musik show! Many thanks to Jeff Mewbourn for recording the performance - our complete first set is available for downloading (mp3 or FLAC), viewing, or listening here. We hope to come back to An die Musik by January or February 2009. Stay tuned for more gig announcements in NYC and Washington DC.
  • 10/11/08: The Saxophone Cartel's next performance in 2009 happens on November 6 at An die Musik in Baltimore, with two full sets (8:00 and 9:30pm, $10 per person). A review of the venue is here.
  • 6/25/08: We considered our show with Ned Rothenberg to be very successful, with a special highlight being Ned's shakuhachi on "The Search for the Golden Raintree". Many thanks to Ned for his passionate artistry, and many thanks to all our friends for supporting us! Next gig is in July, either in Washington, DC or Baltimore.
  • 5/29/08: New updates! The Saxophone Cartel is back in action, performing two shows in the next two months in the NYC area - see the Events page. We are now on myspace. Visit us and be friends! Bios and links were also updated. The June 2006 Space 101 record will be released, but we are still in deliberation about the optimum way to do this.
  • 8/24/07: New media added on the Music page. The Sax Cartel is on Pandora, and video from our Weekly Special appearance is archived.
